Credit is due to whoever spent the time mocking up these newspaper articles, for a sub-plot which appears to have been lost in the final edit of the episode. Each appears for just a few frames. I love that each uses a different template, to suggest they are from different eras.
A few things to note:
- The header of the second image is taken from the UK paper The Guardian or its Sunday sibling The Observer - the "K" of "UK" has been deleted to make it less out of place.
- Tucson is in the south of Arizona, in the south-west USA. The name "Northeast Chronicle" suggests an earlier version of the script had a different location in mind. There does appear to be a real statue of Paul Bunyan in Tucson, though.
- The final article starts off talking about a "deadly shooting", even though the headline is about a "Slashed Body", which fits the filmed episode, and Alpha's general M.O.
- The CEO at the heart of the three stories is named as "Peter Smith", but the victim who Alpha impersonates in the final script is identified as "Stephen J. Kepler".
Meanwhile, enjoy this capture of the animated "MovieOS" sequence of Alpha "hacking into things". Note the text which appears to float in the foreground rather than inside its own window.
